born in the state of são paulo, brazil, roo began studying piano at the age of six and his passion for music has only grown since those days.  well versed in the rhythms and music heritage of brazil, roo incorporates the flavors of this rich heritage into his own compositions.

roo fuses modern techniques and varied instrumentations with time-honored classics of brazilian music.  driven to experiment and with a loop pedal at his feet, roo arranges and creates a full sound during his presentations by layering recorded voice, guitar, cavaquinho, keyboards, percussion instruments and more in real time.

though his performances, roo strives to keep the rhythms of brazilian music alive through collaborations with diverse musicians and presentations to audiences in brazil and abroad.

he is a regular performer in show houses, SESC centers and nightclubs around the city of são paulo.

as a composer, roo participated in several MPB music festivals (Música Popular Brasileira) throughout brasil.  at the FAMPOP festival, he earned the "best national arrangement" award for his original composition "menina da ladeira".

after completing his bachelor of arts degree in acoustic guitar, roo dedicated himself to the study of music production at studios like 2600hz and tonelada studio in the city of são paulo. roo furthered his with post graduate studies at anhembi morumbi university focused on sound tracks for television and movies.

roo is a musical producer at ultrassom music ideas and assistant to the musical director ruben feffer. at ultrassom, roo contributed to audiovisual productions such as the animated series "jorel`s brother", "bubu and the owls" and "boris & rufus", as well as longer features like "tito and the birds" and the emmy award winning virual reality experience "the line".
